Business Researcher and Academic Administrator
Free Business Research Consulting with Academic Scholars
This is an attempt to bring together academic scholars and industry professionals in a mutually rewarding relationship. During the live meetings, industry professionals could present their business problems and the academic scholars could propose to help find solutions to those problems. The industry professionals may have to provide the academic scholars access to the data needed to arrive at conclusions. The primary benefit of the academic scholars from this partnership is the opportunity to write research papers and case studies based on their investigation. Permission for this is often expected; due anonymization of the business profile and co-authorship with the industry professionals could be negotiated. Likewise, the academic scholars might want to involve their students at various stages in the consulting process: this is an opportunity for the students to do their internships, too. Kindly understand that, due to the open nature of the meetings, we may not be able to protect any sensitive information shared there. Thus, it is recommended that anything that has a privacy / security / confidentiality aspect be shared only privately with those academic scholars with whom you have a specific contractual relationship.

Sage or Saboteur? Mental Fitness in the Time of Covid
Mental Fitness is a measure of the strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage) versus the negative (Saboteur). Saboteurs react to challenges in ways that generate negative emotions such as stress, disappointment, self-doubt, regret, anger, shame, guilt, or worry. Your Sage handles challenges through positive emotions like empathy, gratitude, curiosity, creativity, self-confidence, and calm, clear-headed, laser-focused action. The relative strength of your positive Sage versus negative Saboteurs is called PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient). PQ is the measure of your Mental Fitness. It's the best predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform relative to your potential. You can boost your PQ significantly with practice.

Education in the New Normal
Educators, what are the takeaways and lessons you have learned over the past year? It would be interesting to share thoughts and ideas on how the pandemic has impacted you as an educator, or as an administrator, or even as a parent. In this room, I would be sharing my experiences as a teacher in Singapore as we pivoted quickly from face-to-face to online learning and how this has impacted my students. I would also welcome questions from those interested to know more about the educational landscape in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Imposter Syndrome & the PhD: Don't Believe Everything You Think
Impostors, by definition, hide their identity. In the context of a PhD, this means hiding any insecurity or weakness in knowledge; avoiding asking the ‘stupid question’, avoiding mistakes, avoiding risk, and avoiding difficulty. It is a state motivated by fear, by the avoidance of a negative outcome, but it actually makes the negative outcome more likely. Sometimes it's worth embracing the very thing you fear the most. Rather than avoiding being found out, why not be open about what you don't know?

The transformation of organizations
As an academic-practitioner at the University of Milan, I consult ambitious and inspiring companies (mostly big, but size does not matter to the change game) into transforming their organizations and business models to meet the challenges of a future of Freedom. I authored a book by Routledge on Freedom Management and I have been listed in the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders & Influencers on Future of Work by Thinkers360 (https://lnkd.in/gqUtsdB). I set up this room in order to have nice quality time with people who believe we need to overcome the limits of present organizations

Introvert & Alignment Coach
The ‘Quietly Determined’ in the workplace
I am naturally a more introverted individual, so when I worked in a fast-paced London city firm for over 10years, my introversion took a battering and eventually I reached burnout. But I have now learnt how to embrace my introverted strengths and to thrive, MY WAY. As a result, I help others to do the same. My Room is therefore aimed more towards introverted individuals who may have concerns around how to manage their needs, or be at their best, in a working world where extroversion seems to prevail! Session 1 – Discussion around potential challenges you could face in the workplace as a more introverted individual and/or from an academic background. Understanding where on the introverted spectrum you are. Discussing your ideal vision of what thriving in the workplace looks like/means to you.
